Dare to Dream
In times of uncertainty, focus your mind and build your confidence with this online course. Whether you’re considering employment, changing jobs, self-employment, volunteering, study or a combination this course will give you the opportunity to develop some goals and an action plan.
The first and fast way to learn to read is using Phonics. Explore what this means and how children are introduced to phonics in early years and school. Find out how you can help them focus on their sounds to aid reading.
Steps for Success
The way we think has a huge influence on how we approach life. Helen and Caroline have identified some useful thinking skills setting your personal goals and taking the steps to achieve them. You will learn about methods of how to increase your confidence and self-esteem and also how to improve your motivation by understanding on how we need to focus on the short-term.
Your maths, their maths, our maths
Do you struggle helping your children at home with their maths? Has it been a while since you have done any maths and would like a recap on how to do certain subjects? Are you considering volunteering in schools and would like to refresh your maths skills? This online course will help you with this.

Neighbour of the Year & Community of the Year
A message from Neighbourhood Watch:
"From the 14th September, people across the UK are being invited to take part in our annual hunt for the UK’s ‘NEIGHBOUR OF THE YEAR’ – a nationwide search undertaken in partnership with our friends at Co-op Insurance.
Now in its fourth year, 2021 sees the introduction of a new category: Community of the Year. This Award will celebrate the nation’s most outstanding community, and the lengths they’ve gone to, to support others and make a difference. The ‘community’ can either be in person or virtual (such as over Teams, Facebook or WhatsApp)."
Visit Neighbour of the Year Awards 2021 | Neighbourhood Watch Network (ourwatch.org.uk) to nominate your Neighbour of the Year, Young Neighbour of the Year (for people aged 21 years and under) or Community of the Year, and to find out more about these very special Awards.
Our local PeerTalk peer support group meets at Jo Cox House, 90 Commercial Street, Batley, WF17 5DS every Wednesday at 11am – 12.30pm.
