FREE Christmas Dance Intensive

The Timestep Team will deliver a 4 day program at Studio93, Jo Cox House, Batley 20th-23rd December

In this class your child will be learning the internets hottest Tik Tok dances!

Timestep Tik Tok (Age 8-12) 12.00-2.00pm
Up your game and freestyle to popular dance tracks and trends in our Tik Tok Classes dedicated to all things Tik Tok.

Timestep are working in partnership with Kirklees council to bring a FREE 4 day workshop of dance classes! Attend one or all 4 days. Places are limited

This is a fantastic opportunity for children who have a passion for dance.

Timestep teachers are keen to work with pupils of all abilities who would benefit from their experience and would not normally have access to professional tutoring. Those with learning and physical disabilities are more than welcome to join us

Whilst he's visiting us from the North Pole, the Lawrence Batley Theatre is taking Alfie on a tour of Kirklees Libraries. He’ll be stopping by everywhere from Cleckheaton to Kirkheaton, Birstall to Batley, cracking jokes, telling stories and spreading some Christmas magic!

The LBT Community Production happens once a year and the next one will be September 2022 BUT you can apply to be in the cast NOW – all ages and experience welcome. Participation in the Community Production is free.

Young company classes do cost. Next term is £86 – Kirklees passport holders can get a 3rd reduction to £57 but if anyone wants to take part and can’t afford it we encourage them to contact the theatre at olivia@theblt.org (Olivia is our Young Company Director) to see what the theatre can do – they don’t want anyone to be excluded because of cost.

Volunteering with Cancer SMART

Yorkshire Cancer Community are a support and information network for people affected by cancer and those who support cancer patients and their carers. 

A number of volunteering opportunities are currently available as part of their Cancer Smart project. The aim of the project is to raise awareness of cancer and to promote screening uptake in the West Yorkshire and Harrogate area. Find out more here:

Household Support Fund

The hardship fund is accessible to anyone including NRPF families who can evidence they are in hardship.

The fund can be used for many items and is needs lead and so can cover lots of issues e.g. food/fuel poverty, FSM for NRPF families, clothing grants, white goods for cooking facilities, transport for specific appointments and more.

Be Scam Aware - Scamnesty

Friends Against Scams would like your scam mail for Christmas!

Due to the success of last year's campaign, the Friends Against Scams Team are once again running a Scamnesty (a scam mail amnesty) campaign aiming to encourage everyone in the UK to send in any unwanted scam and nuisance mail that they receive into the National Trading Standards (NTS) Scams Team completely free of charge.
