Libraries from Home
Kirklees Libraries have been busy and prepared an amazing range of activities for all Kirklees residents - big and small! There is no cost to any of their offers – although what’s available is exciting, money-saving, diverse, fun, informative and high quality.
PeerTalk peer support group
PeerTalk peer support group is still running face-to-face through this lockdown in Batley, every Wednesday, 1.30 – 3pm, at The Community Room at Batley Parish Church.
For anyone facing stressful times, depression, anxiety or related conditions, people can simply come along, but if they prefer to have a chat beforehand they can call PeerTalk on 07719 562 617 to talk through how it works.
There is more information about how the group works on PeerTalk website at https://www.peertalk.org.uk/support-groups where, if you scroll down, there are some FAQs that people find helpful.
This support is facilitated by two trained volunteer facilitators and is immediately available, with no waiting lists.
Free Courses for Kirklees Residents
Crosland Moor Community Learning Centre is launching a new course starting in March: Digital Job-search and Employability. The course will be delivered online over 5 weeks and is free to Kirklees residents.
To register your interest in the course you can either call 07972 929495 or use the online form:
Free Zoom training is also available - this is a one-hour session to allow learners to familiarise themselves with Zoom controls prior to a course. This is also available to anyone who wishes to use Zoom for any purpose to stay connected in lockdown.
